upgrading my hdx18

hi all! I was reading some of the post and was wondering if i could upgrade my laptop.

I would like to add bluetooth to it(not a dongle) and I`ve searched the hp parts store and found this: Integrated wireless Bluetooth 2.0 module. Can I install it in my laptop?and where does it go?

Another thing I would like to add to my hdx is the tv tunner.Now I`ve noticed there is an antenna part (TV tuner antenna - With F-PAL jack - part number 482900-001 ) and two PCBoard Interfaces: Intergated TV tuner circuit board (DVB-T) and TV tuner circuit board (DVB-T/ANG)

Do I have to get the antena and the pc board?and which of them two is good?

Nevermind. I just read the hdx18 manual. I saw where the parts go.

But i have another question: if i want to install the bluetooth module, do I have to get and install the bluetooth cable too?

And if I want to install the tv tunner, do I have to get and install the tv tunner cable?

Or are the cable already installed?

And wich tv tunner board should I get? the DVB-T , the NTSC/ATSC/ANG or the DVB-T/ANG ?

You're not being ignored. I just have no idea man. Why not open your laptop up and see for yourself as it seems nobody knows? Then you can document that here. Sorry I couldn't help.

You will need to buy the cables for both those modules. You can find the modules for sale with the cables sometimes, but the DV cables will not work on the HDX.

Another guy here tried to add bluetooth to his HDX and either got a defective unit, or couldn't get it to work. Here was his thread >> www.hphdx.net/Forum/tabid/55/forumid/...

Al those things relate to location, year, make and model. Not in any particular order. I'll say dont mess with the internals of an laptop. Those could look the same. But by multi-layer print different.

Personally I like the idea of an external antenna. That is what you're left with. Even with an internal tuner. BTW, that suckpad sucks...

I'll stick the antenna to the back of the lid. And after watching telly awhile...you know...plop !...

I have done the TV tuner upgrade and can speak to that. You will need both the tuner card and the antenna as well as other parts which I'll reference.

TV Card: Easy one here you have to have one. I picked up an AverMedia card that not only did analog/digital cable but FM radio as well.
TV Antenna Internal: The DV7 Cable will work. I bought one off of eBay as there seemed to be many new ones available for under $15.00. HP wants almost $70.00 for it. Installation requires total disassembly of the entire laptop and is not recommended if you're not used to tearing down laptops.
RG6 dongle: If you're going to use analog cable you'll need a dongle to convert the mini connector on the laptop to the cable wire. This was nearly impossible to find and HP does not offer it as a stand alone part.
External Hi Def antenna: Again this converts your mini connector on the laptop to an external antenna for over the air transmission. Again available on eBay cheap
Remote: If desired you can get a remote that goes into the PCI Express 54 slot on the side of the laptop. Again purchased on eBay

and another question I have is about the procesor. can I upgrade mine(the dual core p8700 2.53ghz) to the q9100 quad core? will it work? I have noticed that the quad core consumes 45w.
