As for the difference between the two, the second on just adjusts sound when you have something plugged into the headphones. Other than that, any settings made to the Independent Dual Headphones won't affect the speaker sound from the laptop.
Thanks for this rageman, but in your original screenshots you have both options showing like me - they haven't combined to become one? And when I do have something plugged in the headphone sockets, 'Independent Dual Headphones' still doesn't affect the sound at all. My reason for asking is it would be good to have individual equalizers for the internal speakers, and then one for my external speakers when I plug them in? It seems 'independent dual headphones' is a pretty redundant device - since the other is called 'speakers and dual headphones' that suggests that one covers everything. Any ideas anyone?
