I've kind of always wanted to get a tattoo but could never think of any, and I've looked at hundreds of pre-designed tattoos but couldn't find any that I liked, so today I came up with the idea of making one that I like that has meaning behind it. I came up with this:

Meaning behind it
Well the "flaming eye" part is made by an artist, Alex Grey, who makes a lot of art and all the album art for Tool. It's known as the "third eye" which is a whole different topic and concept but is one of the "icons" of Tool, my favorite band. The symbols is a font called "Elegant Mayan" and is a featured font by the band A Perfect Circle (one of my other favorite bands) and reads:
"We are eternal,
All this pain,
Is an illusion"
Which is a quote from Maynard James Keenan (lead singer of Tool & A Perfect Circle) as well as lyrics from a song by Tool called Parabola. Parabola has many meanings that people believe are what Tool is trying to convey but the one I agree with is:
"I think the song is talking about how life is a gift, it almost sounds like he's talking about reincarnation. Our souls are eternal and all the pain we feel while we're alive doesn't matter because our souls go back to heaven, or where ever, when we die and we feel no more pain. We choose to be alive and expirience life. Maybe, but then again, maybe not."
Chances are I'd put it on the middle of my back below my neck a couple inches, kinda like this photo ----> www.everytattoo.com/The-Third-eye-of-...
That's the photo that inspired me to get this one. I know the one I created is a little plain right now but I'm sure I can keep messing around with it, and if not then I'm sure it will look good as a tattoo.
Anyway, I'd like to see if anyone else has tattoos and pictures :) Or if you don't have a tattoo just any you think are cool or that you want.
